ive noticed a flood in scrip kiddie tools recently.
do you think this has a negative affect?
cause now every tom dick and harry can exploit networks, etc.
but it could also be strengthening the hacker movement as most of these
kids will hopefully take this a step further and not need the tools and
learn to do some proper hacking.
any opinions?

i think they will grow independent on the tools and not bother learning much themself. But i suppose there is nothing anyone can do about it, not untill these people stop making tools!

I see where your coming from. In my opinion, there not learning anything this was and obviously don't want to. So let them get on with it, its there loss. After a while of using trojans and such, they will get found out by their ISP and have an official warning. They will then stop will these silly antics.

yea i myself have exsperimented with kiddie tools but i will rather exsperiment for a wile and figure out how they work then i just unninstall them. the tools can be helpful tho but if theses kids want to use tools they should learn how to rite there own...

I think skiddies are getting smarter. They are making more powerfull tools, like LC. And the big companies are stealing their ideas, changing their names and eula`s.Its only a mask.

that does happen alot peoples ideas are taken and the names changed e.g. administrators tool box which i am presently exsperimeting with...

Yes script kiddies are Just plain annoying. But Theres realy nothing you can do. Flameing them realy wont do anything. Telling them to stop wont do anything. Theres always going to be someone who is going to use a script and going to be a kiddy. What I find most funny of all is Some time or a latter or still do everyone used scripts and most likely use scripts. Its not the scripts that make you a kiddie. But the way you use the scripts and the way you act and the questions you ask.
Now useing a script does not make you l33t or a H4cK3r. but if you know what your doing and how to use it and dont do it stupidly and know what your doing and talking about then your not some kiddie. I think most people are saying now that if you use any kind of script to do any thing with hacking or exploits or anything to do with a computer then your a scrip kiddie and your way off.
If you know what your doing and you know computers and networking and programming and you use a script that does not make you a script kiddie. The person could have made the script that did all the work... So just watch who you call a script kiddie..

In my opinion, tools should only be made by a person who can already do something and they don't want to have to go through the process over and over. It should never be given to anyone other than the maker.
I have a similar idea for cheat codes in games:
If you can mod the game's script to have the same affect as a cheat code, you deserve to use the cheat code.

| A script kiddie tried to pull a trick on me over IM. I just acted like I didnt know S*** about computers(and compared to most of you I dont). I just kept saying "I dunno how to do that" when he attempted to send me "hotmail hacker gold"(dumbass didnt even rename it). |

I beg to differ that "skiddy tools" are evil. I will compare gun to the skiddy tools for example. Cops and military use weapons to stop terorist and crime, now does that make Gun's/weapons evil? No it doesn't, the criminal that uses the gun to kill someone else is the evil one in the case. It apply's the same to "skiddy tools", which should not be called that name to begin with. Script's, tools, programs to test your security are a valuable commodity on the internet to secure your network and secure your os better. Any tools or weapons or anything can be used for good or evil, it comes down to the person that uses them and what they do with them. I see nothing wrong with an adminitrator who uses scripts/tools to test the integrity and security of his network/OS's. The more these tool's are created the more software vendors have to release patch and updates to combat the hole in there software. How is that bad? It's not, the more widespread and the more these skiddies use the tools the more they get found out and the more holes are fixed. If administrator did there jobs properlly and used the tools themselves to secure there network, then they would not be targets since they would be protected to begin with. It comes down to the user, not the tool or script. I for one write my own and also use other peoples script and tools. I see no point in writting a tool or script that is already out there, a waste of time, if it's not out there and I need something, then I deal with it myself. Does that make me a skiddy, I don't think so. I have found enough holes and used a lot of tools on my work network (I am the admin FYI, just before you guy's get the wrong ideal). I believe that without some of the tools and script that I have used I wouldn't of found some of these holes in my network and OS's. Once again it comes down to the intent of what you are gonna do with the tools, the tools and script are not the ones responsible, gun's don't kill people, it's the guy that pulls the trigger that does, not the gun, same with script and tools.
